Colleges in Greater London are falling behind the rest of England in their efforts to recruit part-time adults despite early rapid growth, an analysis by the Further Education Funding Council shows.
Part-time student numbers - crucial to colleges hitting growth targets - in the capital are forecast to rise by 21 per cent over the next three years, compared with a projected increase of 28 per cent nationally. The FEFC says far more flexible teaching and learning methods are needed to attract minority groups.
