BARONESS Warnock’s article on special needs (TES, December 31) contains important conclusions and one extraordinary admission, namely, that her inquiry “was forbidden to count social deprivation as in any way contributing to educational needs”.
The story cannot be left there: it concerns the relatioships between policy-makers, politicians and the education profession.
Why has Lady Warnock waited more than 20 years to tell us that she allowed her hands to be tied behind her back?
