Your feature about choir schools had one significant omission in that it made no mention of the girls’ choir at Lincoln Cathedral. The girl’s choir, formed in September 1995, sang for the first time on Sunday November 5 and on November 22, St Cecilia’s Day, Evensong was sung by girls for the first time in the cathedral’s 900-year history.

Girl choristers attend the cathedral school, where they receive a bursary of equal value to that given to boy choristers.
