The National Lottery is being blamed for the closure of a school for the blind. The Royal National Institute for the Blind’s Sunshine House School in East Grinstead, West Sussex, will close next Easter. The charity took the decision after losing an estimated Pounds 500,000 in donations since the lottery began.
Parents of children at the school, which costs Pounds 670,000 a year to run, and provides 24-hour care for 16 pupils aged three to 10, have begun a campaign to keep it open.
