How can an allegedly incompetent head who had suffered a vote of no confidence by his teaching staff, who lacked the entire school staff’s confidence in his integrity and ability to manage the school and whose “chaotic finances” and “weak leadership” had been criticised in an Ofsted report, continue to work as an Ofsted inspector (“Unfit to lead but fit to inspect”, TES, April 15)?
Does it not provide us with a further opportunity to amend Shaw’s quotation: “He who can, does. He who cannot, teaches. He who cannot teach, inspects teachers”?
