A HOUSEMISTRESS has won compensation from a school which failed to follow correct procedures in making her redundant. Casterton school in Carnforth, Lancashire, has been ordered to pay pound;3,500 to Jill Atkinson, 58, who lost her job last year as a sixth-form boarding housemistress. The Manchester employment tribunal said the way in which she had been singled out for redundancy was “subjective, haphazard and unfair”.
