A woman principal has been appointed at St Brendan’s Sixth Form College in Bristol for the first time in its 113-year history

Ann Barrow, originally a chemistry teacher and vice-principal at the college for more than a decade, took over following the retirement of Derek Bodey. Ms Barrow said: “Women have played a major part in the success of St Brendan’s since it became a sixth form college. This is simply a further development of the role that women continue to play in the college’s achievements.”
