I saw Plan B’s film Ill Manors (“Mind your manors”, 8 June) on Saturday night, a busman’s holiday for me having spent 30 years in PRUs, but an important film for policymakers and leaders. It provides some explanation of why uniforms with a contrasting edge around the collar, homework diaries, leather shoes, healthy packed lunches, Bible reading, learning a language, five A to Cs and 99 per cent attendance are hard for some kids. What is your plan B, Mr Gove?
