Managers’ pay cut is last straw

I read with horror your article implying that teachers are not interested in salary levels (“Ms Average on pound;32k - but it’s not all about money”, TES, January 6).

I have found out that, in September 2007, I will be earning approximately pound;300 less than I do now due to loss of a hard-earned management point in the “great re-structuring” scheme.

Sadly, I doubt my workload will decrease at the same rate as my standard of living.

I am sadly about to vote with my feet. Never mind, I’m sure an unqualified teaching assistant or an inexperienced NQT will happily fill my shoes.

Let’s hope this doesn’t affect the league tables!
