THE Government’s publication, Married Life, to be launched next year, extolling the virtues of marriage, has been criticised by single-parent organisations and some MPs.
Katherine Stinso of lone-parent support charity Gingerbread said: “Promoting marriage in this way is a cultural throwback. It feeds into the stereotype that there is a hierarchy of relationships.”
