MARJORIE Evans, the headteacher accused and cleared of slapping a pupil, has met the Prince of Wales to discuss her 18-month fight to clear her name. The 56-year-old south Wales head met the Prince at a secret location last month following a letter of support she received rom him during her ordeal. Mrs Evans was cleared of slapping a pupil at St Mary’s junior school, Caldicot, after an appeal last year overturned an earlier guilty verdict. She fought accusations of further mistreatment and was reinstated in the school at Easter.
