Mason unfairly dismissed

Professor Stan Mason, former Pounds 111,00-a-year principal of Glasgow Caledonian University, was unfairly dismissed and should be given his job back, an industrial tribunal has ruled. The finding of unfair dismissal for gross industrial misconduct last September was unanimous but the tribunal chairman dissented from the reinstatement order. The university is considering whether to appeal against a decision which could cost it Pounds 150,000 in compensation to Professor Mason.
