Matter of choice

What kind of parent would I be if I did not give my child the best start in life because of my own idealism? (“Good enough for other people’s kids won’t do,” October 16).

Teachers who work hard to do the best in the situation they are in should not be barred from putting their child in whatever school they feel is best, be that state or private.

Should canteen chefs who work their socks off to provide good cheap basic food be barred from silver service restaurants?
