The first meeting of the strategy committee for continuing professional development (CPD), chaired by Jack McConnell, Education Minister, has made it clear that initial teacher education must come within its scope. A rview of initial training is already pledged as part of the post-McCrone settlement. The committee also agreed at its meeting on Monday that its strategy for CPD will specifically support inclusive education.
