Scotbeef is the title of a new home economics video produced by the British Meat Education Service with the Higher Still Development Unit and Scottish Qualifications Authority.

Accompanying teachers’ notes by Joyce Henderson, principal teacher of home economics at Carluke High and HSDU development officer, relate to the four topics on the tape: the history of Scoteef and the ready-meals market; product development; the manufacturing process; and food safety, quality and nutrition.

The materials are being sent free to all Scottish secondaries by the HSDU. Further copies from Shirley Ascough at the British Meat Education Service, PO Box 44, Winterhill House, Snowdon Drive, Milton Keynes MK6 1AX, tel: 01908 677577.
