Two colleges succeeded with separate appeals on A-level media studies marking last year, the appeals board hearings published today show. Cirencester College, a post-16 institution in Gloucester, had the marks changed on appeal of all five of its candidates following a dispute with OCR.
Dominican College, a Roman Catholic grammar school in Portstewart, Northern Ireland, succeeded with an appeal on AQA’s moderating of an AS media studies exam last year. Eleven of 27 candidates’ overall grades were changed.
Four other schools and colleges appealed, without success, over GCSE maths, and A-level exams in history, music and psychology.
