I want to become a teacher because... I felt it was something I was good at.
I have always been enthusiastic about learning.
My biggest inspiration at school was... There are so many people that I couldn’t pick one.
The most exciting thing that’s happened to me so far is... I’m finding the whole teaching experience exciting, but I particularly enjoyed going to school and working with the kids. It is a great feeling to be giving something back to them.
I can’t wait... to have my own class and witness the children’s learning throughout the year to see how far we’ve taken them and how much they’ve learnt. It must be such a rewarding experience.
But I’m dreading... Dealing with parents, if I’m honest. I think that will be a real challenge for me and one I’m not really sure whether I’m going to enjoy - but I’m hoping there will be no problems on that score.
I would like my first job to be in... an infant school. I would love to be involved with the infants or the reception classes.
I’ll know I’m a teacher when... I’ve finally passed and completed everything.
I’m just looking forward to getting through this year.
If I wasn’t going into teaching I’d be... working with children. It’s something I’ve always wanted to do: educate kids and make things fun for them. Failing that, I did once fancy becoming a physio.
This evening I’m... doing a science audit. Not very exciting, I know. I’m having friends around after so I’ll get time to chill out.
If I were Ruth Kelly I would... make sure kids learn but also get to enjoy their education. Maybe get rid of the key stage 1 tests.
