The RSA Examinations Board has signed an exclusive agreement with the engineering lead training body in a deal to ensure its general national vocational qualifications meet industry’s needs.

The Engineering Training Authority will provide technical support and advice for the RSA’s engineering and manufacturing GNVQs. The deal follows an agreement signed last year between them to work on national vocational qualifications.

Martin Cross, RSA chief executive, said: “As one of the three GNVQ awarding bodies, we are keen to develop strategic partnerships which will help us to enhance the qualifications we offer.

“Working with EnTra, we can increasingly ensure the actual requirements of industry are met with RSA’s engineering and manufacturing GNVQs.”

Dr Michael Sanderson, chief executive of EnTra, said: “We believe that we have a real contribution to make to the development and quality assurance of relevant qualifications for 16 to 19-year-olds to prepare them for work-based training and education.”
