Men in primary training on rise

The number of men training in primary teaching has risen by more than 50 per cent in England in the past four years, figures suggest. The Teaching Agency said the number of men starting in primary teaching was growing at five times the rate of women. There were 3,743 male trainee primary teachers in 2011-12 compared with 2,476 in 2008-09, the agency said.
