A Liverpool school hopes to improve its image by swapping the local saint in its title for a European one. The secondary has been known for 50 years as St John Almond school, after a Merseyside-born Catholic martyr, but is now changing its name to St Benedict’s Catholic college, after the patron saint of Europe.
