A new exhibition, “Blood, Sea and Ice: Three English Explorers”, has just opened at the National Maritime Museum in Greenwich. Marking the 400th anniversary of Sir Francis Drake’s death, it tells the story of his exploits and those of Captain James Cook and Sir John Franklin. The exhibits include Drake’s Drum and a chair made from the timbers of his ship, the Golden Hinde. Tel: 0181 858 4422.
