London’s Cine Lumiere hosts the eighth London Spanish Film Festival this autumn.

What is it?

Showcasing the best recent Spanish films, the festival runs from 28 September to 10 October. The programme includes films from Catalonia such as El sexo de los angeles (The Sex of the Angels) and Mientras duermes (Sleep Tight). Basque cinema is represented by Arriya (The Stone) and Extraterrestre (Extraterrestrial).

Many of the films will be introduced by film-makers or cast members, with question-and-answer sessions that are a great opportunity for pupils to find out about Spanish culture and history, and to practise speaking and listening.
