Money goes on teachers

More than pound;72 million, or just under a third of total council budgets for the arts, libraries and museums, is spent on employing specialist teachers and instructors in schools.

A survey by the Scottish Arts Council and Cosla found that pound;58.3 million went on full-time music, art and PE teachers who take dance, pound;13.1 million on peripatetic teachers, mostly instrumental instructors, and pound;898,000 on advisers in music and art.
