Your leader “A family affair” (TES, July 12) was absolutely on target.

So long as influential people group together “spiritual and moral” we shall have no progress. The vast majority of people in this country are not interested in ‘spiritual issues’ - whatever they are. They certainly aren’t proving much help in northern Ireland, or Bosnia, or Algeria, or a hundred other areas of the world. But if we argue for a strong moral code, vital to any society of whatever creed, we stand some chance of getting agreement.
