The number of children’s fiction books lent by libraries has risen significantly. A survey by the Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy found the number of fiction books for young people lent rose by 6.1 per cent last year. Meanwhile, adult fiction lending fell by 0.1 per cent and non-fiction by 1.8 per cent.
