More high fliers take GCSEs

MORE youngsters than ever this summer will sit their GCSE exams up to two years ahead of schedule. Latest government figures show that the number of pupils being “fast-tracked” through GCE is 20 per cent up on last year to nearly 27,000. Most will sit one or two papers, one or two years early, with maths and technology the likeliest subjects for fast-tracking.
