More primary PE specialists urged

Christine Watson, Glasgow’s primary PE co-ordinator, urged MSPs to support more primary specialists. She warned that many children may not be receiving their minimum entitlement of 56 minutes a wek.

“Many primary schools now operate a PE programme of one period per week, which is sometimes cut if the communal hall is needed for something more important,” Mrs Watson said.
