More strain on offices

As a school office manager I fully support the fact that teachers will not now be burdened by the “20-plus admin and clerical tasks” - although in my experience a good proportion of these are already dealt with by office staff.

However, let’s not forget that this will mean much extra work for the school offices, which are already sparsely staffed and struggling to cope with the volume of work.

I note from the staff you asked for comments (which incidentally did not include an admin worker) that the PE teacher interviewed said “it takes the school office a week to type up one letter” - undoubtedly this is why.

If offices are to take on extra work, it is important we are given extra office hours or staffing to accommodate this. Please teachers, support your support staff!
