Kar2ouche is an advanced multimedia software system which turns pupils into Hollywood-style movie directors. Developed by Immersive Education with researchers at the department of educational studies at Oxford University, it is being tested in 500 UK schools.

“This type of 3D simulation software, which has its origins in the computer games industry, is making a huge difference in motivating children of all ages and abilities,” says curriculum co-ordinator Alison Towers, of the Kingwood City Learning Centre in London. “The system allows a child to take control of situations and imagine himself or herself as the director of a Shakespeare play or as a famous scientist, such as Charles Darwin,” she adds.

Several publishers have incorporated Kar2ouche into science and language teaching publications. Kar2ouche, tel 01865 811000. Stand F8
