Problems with schools’ funding are to be analysed this year by MPs on the House of Commons’ education select committee. It plans to give school finances extra attention amid concerns that the Department for Education and Skills does not always consider the financial impact of its legislation. The committee, which was highly critical of last year’s funding changes, will also look closely at the DfES’ financial management.
