Mr Peacock repeated the Scottish Executive mantra that it will support denominational education “so long as parents want it”. Catholic education provided a clear choice and ministers would back that. Concerns had been raised about separate schools with the advent of shared campuses but motives ascribed to ministers were wide of the mark. It was about sharing resources.
