A rock band made up of pupils from schools across Edinburgh has appeared in the cult music magazine, NME.

The Edinburgh Schools Rock Ensemble (ESRE) is made up of a group of talented young musicians brought together from schools across the capital. NME decided to feature the band as part of a story to honour musician Paul Weller winning a lifetime achievement award.

Now, a clip of the band performing the singer’s hit, “From the Floorboards Up”, at the Picture House in Edinburgh last year has been posted on the magazine’s website.

ESRE has been running for nine years and is, according to the council, growing in popularity, with the group set to launch a summer tour which will see them play in the Highlands and Islands and in northern England.
