A Scottish Chamber Orchestra educational project beginning this month in West Dunbartonshire schools is to be led by saxophonist and composer Karen Wimhurst, who is best known for her genre-crossing work with the Cauld Blast Orchestra. The project, Code Name Electric 2003: Commission Impossible, will culminate in a performance in June. It will focus on a contemporary reworking of Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein, with reference to topical issues such as genetic engineering, cloning and genetically modified crops.
