Launched to coincide with the release of Amistad, Steven Spielberg’s attempt to do for black slavery what he did for the Holocaust in Schindler’s List, Film Education’s latest study guide and CD-Rom chart the history of slavery from the 15th to 19th centuries. Aimed at 15 to 18-year-olds, Amistad ties in with a 30-minute programme on BBC2‘s Learning Zone (4am, March 27). It deals with the 1839 mutiny aboard La Amistad, a Spanish slave ship.
