Books

- I am reading What's The Point of School? by Guy Claxton. Two of my teachers bought me this book as a small surprise for doing a talk to East Lothian heads and principal teachers. It is fantastic and right up my street. Every time I pick it up, I don't want to put it back down. I would say that it has definitely deepened my thinking about schools and how they can change. I also like a good biography every so often. The best one that I've read so far has to be the authorised biography of Steve Jobs, by Walter Isaacson. Jobs has inspired and interested me for quite a while, and this book explains everything about him, from his thought process, to his ideas and his businesses - everything that you would want to know.

Film

- I love a good old American football or basketball film, such as Coach Carter, The Blind Side or Gridiron Gang. I can't specifically tell you why, but there is just something that I love about them - maybe it's the motivational and emotional factor. Comic bookaction movies also grab my attention. I recently got my hands on the Avengers box-set (Iron Man, Iron Man 2, The Incredible Hulk, Thor, Captain America and Avengers Assemble) and the discs haven't left my DVD player yet - they are incredible.

Music

- It depends what I'm doing, to be honest. If I need to concentrate, then I love to listen to singer-songwriters such as Newton Faulkner and Michel Telo (pictured). When I'm out driving, I tend to listen to the likes of Swedish House Mafia, Afrojack, Arty and Steve Aoki or, conversely, Joe Bonomassa. I do like to listen to such a wide range of music, but my ultimate choice is chilled Dance. To me, nothing beats it.
