The new college covering the south and west of Glasgow - a merger of Cardonald, Langside and Anniesland colleges - could be called Clyde College Glasgow.
The working title was agreed unanimously at the first meeting of the three colleges’ partnership board at the end of last month.
“This offers us the opportunity to retain our individual college heritages while demonstrating we are a new college and part of a proud city,” the three principals told staff and students. The title was now subject to consultation with stakeholders and the government, they added.
Mike Haggerty, a member of Clydebank College board, said it was aware of the working title of the three Glasgow colleges, but that Clydebank was “currently concentrating on developing the provision for learners in the area we will be serving”.
