Children aged 7-11 visiting the Ipswich Museum can become nature detectives investigating animals from seashore or town, matching animals and plants with their fossils, guessing the names of hidden objects in “feely boxes”, or holding a prickly hedgehog. The Natural History Museum Travelling Discovery Centre is in Ipswich until February 25 before continuing its tour around Britain. Details: David Lampard, keeper of natural sciences, Ipswich Museum, High Street, Ipswich, Suffolk IP1 3QH. Tel: 01473 213761, or Natural History Museum. Tel: 0171 938 9388.
