(Photograph) - Children from one of Sheffield’s most deprived areas find their way around one of the city’s woodland areas. Year 3 and 4 pupils from St Patrick’s Catholic school were taken to Woolly Woods, a patch of ancient woodland in the centre of the city. Although it is less than a 20-minute drive from the school, some children had never been there before. The visit was part of the Trees and Woodlands Experience, a programme run by Sheffield council and funded by the Education Action Zone. Blindfolded, pupils were guided by classmates in an exercise to build trust and use non-visual senses.
