Neet numbers grow

Continuing to rise, the latest figures reached 233,000 in the second quarter of 2009. Since the start of the year, the numbers of 16 to 18-year-olds not in work or on a course have risen by 13,000. In the 18-24 age group, there are 835,000 out of education or employment, up more than 100,000 from last year.
