Wesbite addresses for more than 26,000 schools in England (60 per cent) have been allocated according to Nominet, the organisation co-ordinating the project. Most have accepted the proposed names, which include the school nae and education authority with the .sch.uk suffix. A spokesperson said only a few had requested changes, while only 20 schools unhappy with the proposed address had been referred to BECTA.
