Schools have been asked to donate sports equipment to children in Malawi.

The appeal was launched as the country’s national netball team, which is ranked fifth in the world, arrived in Glasgow to play Scotland at the Kelvin Hall tonight in a match beginning at 7pm.

The visit, which is building on the strong links between the two countries, will also see the touring players assist in a coaching clinic for Scotland’s under-17 squad.

Netball Scotland says sports equipment donated will be sent to the most deprived areas of Malawi, with help from Glasgow City Council.
