“The Mythical Quest: in Search of Adventure, Romance and Enlightenment” opens at the British Library, Great Russell Street, London, on June 14 and runs until September 29. It examines stories which have been expressed in literature, art, song, dance and other media, including Jason and the Golden Fleece; Cupid and Psyche; Alexander the Great’s journeys; the seven voyages of Sinbad the Sailor; Rama’s quest for Sita; and the Chinese story Journey to the West.

More than 200 manuscripts, books, works of art and exhibits ranging from Babylonian clay tablets to computer games are on display.
