New chair elected for NGC

NEIL Davies, a parent governor at City of Portsmouth girls and St Jude’s Church of England primary, Portsmouth, is the new chairman of the National Governors’ Council. The father-of-two is the first NGC chair not to be elected by the membership. Terry Pearson (Northampton) and Judith Bennett (Oxfordshire) were elected vice-chairs, while David Naylor (Rutland) stood unopposed for treasurer and Vijaya Kotur (Durham) took over from Mary Wallis-Jones (Camden) as honorary secretary.
