THE University of Cambridge Local Examinations Syndicate, which includes exam board OCR, has appointed a new group chief executive. Simon Lebus, who has been chairman and chief executive at Kitchen Range Foods since 1996, takes up his new position in July.

Two million candidates a year sit UCLES exams in more than 100 countries. The company employs more than 1,300 staff and has an annual turnover of about pound;100 million.
