The Open University is launching a new doctorate in education which aims to encourage teaching and school management to become research-based professions.

It includes a taught component based on an existing MA, linked to a substantial three-year part-time research project. The intention is to: deepen knowledge of contem-porary education issues; develop educational research skills; and contribute to professional knowledge and practice.
