A PUBLIC school at the centre of an inquiry into alleged abuse among pupils says it has appointed a new headteacher.

Worcestershire Social Services are conducting a joint inquiry with West Mercia Police following claims that a child indecently assaulted another child at Bredon School, a boarding and day school in Bushley, near Tewkesbury.

The school’s former headmaster, Colin Wheeler, was arrested in connection with the allegations. He has not been charged and is on bail.
