Alex Jamieson, headteacher of Mid Yell Junior High in Shetland, has been seconded to take charge of the education service in Shetland, which was strongly criticised by HMI last year. Malcolm Payton, the current chief, is transferred to the new educational developments division in the Scottish Executive.
