The Qualifications and Curriculum Authority has officially become the Qualifications and Curriculum Development Agency to coincide with the end of the school year. The name change was prompted by the Apprenticeships, Skills, Children and Learning Bill, which created a separate regulatory body, Ofqual. The QCDA will continue developing the curriculum, improving and delivering assessments, and reviewing and reforming qualifications, which Ofqual will regulate. Its helplines will also now be 0300 low-rate numbers.
