Human rights

- Today is International Day for Tolerance. An assembly shared by narijagait focuses on human rights. The presentation asks pupils to think about what human rights are - for example, the right to choose what music to listen to or the right to an education, bit.lyTolerance Assembly

- Use vmarsden’s stickers to get through marking more quickly. If a pupil leaves out a full stop, give them a sticker reminding them how and why to use them. There are also stickers for connectives, spacing and “wow” words, bit.lyTeacher Stickers

Writing craft

- The Art of Teaching Writing (Routledge) a new book by Mark Hartley, is aimed at teachers of 7- to 12-year-olds. It contains 14 units of learning, assessment tasks and guidance on teaching different writing styles, including biographies, fiction and poetry.
