As part of Reach For the Sky, a national campaign from Sky to help young people realise their potential, BskyB has launched a resource to help media studies teachers bring the world of the TV newsroom to life. The Virtual Newsroom experience follows a story about flooding in a Yorkshire village from the first call to the newsdesk to going live on air. The progress of the story is illustrated through video clips of interviews with staff including TV presenter, news editor, floor manager, picture researcher and sound-recordist explaining their jobs.
